Grant Engineering, an Irish manufacturer of heating and plumbing products headquartered in Birr, Co. Offaly, has announced an €8 million investment in its production facilities and the launch of a new Quick Recovery cylinder range, as reported by Midlands 103. The investment directly addresses growing demand for integrated low-carbon heating solutions across residential and commercial construction sectors.
Midlands 103 reported that the funding will cover both product development and a major expansion of the company's Birr facility, reinforcing Grant's position as a domestic manufacturing operation serving markets in Ireland, the UK, Europe, and New Zealand.
The new Quick Recovery cylinder range has been developed specifically to work alongside Grant's Aerona R290 air source heat pump, providing what the company describes as a complete and efficient heating solution for modern homes.
The Aerona R290 heat pump uses natural refrigerant R290, which carries a low global warming potential, and represents the latest stage in the company's product development programme.
The investment comes at a time of accelerating demand for heat pump technology in Ireland, driven by national climate targets, evolving building regulations, and government-backed retrofit schemes.
Stephen Grant, founder of Grant, said: "We are seeing a clear shift in Ireland and across our wider markets towards sustainable heating technologies. This investment ensures we can continue to design and manufacture high-quality, innovative products here in Ireland that support that transition. Our new Quick Recovery cylinder range has been developed specifically to complement our Aerona R290 heat pump, providing a complete and efficient heating solution for modern homes."
Niall Fay, CEO of Grant, added: "This launch represents an important step in strengthening our position in a rapidly growing heat pump market. By developing cylinders specifically for use with our award-winning Aerona R290 heat pump, we are providing installers and homeowners with a fully integrated solution that delivers both performance and efficiency. It also reflects our continued investment in manufacturing and innovation, strengthening our ability to meet growing demand for integrated low-carbon heating solutions and supporting the future of sustainable home heating."
Grant Engineering has been in operation for over 45 years and currently employs more than 400 people, making it one of the Midlands' most significant manufacturing employers.
