Scottish family-run pizza manufacturer The Victor Pizza Co. has relocated to a new 26,000 sq ft facility in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire, following a £3 million (€3.5 million) investment in the business. The move significantly increases production capacity and marks a new phase of growth for one of Scotland's long-established food manufacturing businesses.

According to North Lanarkshire Council, the new facility enables the company to improve operational efficiencies and expand its reach across the Scottish chip shop market and the broader Scottish, English and Irish wholesale markets.

The Victor Pizza Co. is a second-generation, family-run manufacturer with roots dating back to the 1970s. The majority of its volume is distributed through wholesale and foodservice channels, covering own-brand ranges, school-compliant pizzas supplied to local authorities, and an Eat Balanced seaweed-based pizza range supplied into major UK wholesalers.

The relocation has created 17 new jobs in North Lanarkshire. The company is working with the council, North Lanarkshire's Working and Routes to Work to develop employment opportunities for local people, with a particular focus on young people entering the food manufacturing industry.

Anne Marie Cairney, co-founder of The Victor Pizza Co., said: "This move marks a huge milestone for our business. It's a significant investment in our future and gives us the platform to grow while staying true to who we are as a family business. Coatbridge has been a fantastic place for us to land, and working closely with North Lanarkshire Council and Routes to Work means we can create real opportunities locally, particularly for young people coming into the industry. That people-first approach is something that's always been at the heart of what we do."

The relocation was supported by £20,000 (€23,400) in grant funding from North Lanarkshire Council's Business Growth Fund, directed towards the conversion and fit-out of office, staff and visitor reception space at the new premises.

Councillor Alex McVey, convener of the Enterprise and Fair Work Committee at North Lanarkshire Council, said the council was delighted to welcome The Victor Pizza Co. to the area and highlighted the range of support available to businesses relocating or growing within North Lanarkshire, including funding, recruitment and training.
