Toomebridge-based kitchen and bedroom manufacturer Uform has announced the acquisition of TKC in a deal that the company says will create the largest specialist supplier to the kitchen market across the UK and Ireland. Love Ballymena reported on the acquisition, which also sees a new chief executive confirmed for the combined group.
The deal gives Uform an enhanced footprint in Great Britain, extending its reach beyond its already significant presence across the UK and Ireland, while adding TKC's established strength in merchant and trade channels, an area Uform has identified as a major growth opportunity.
Alongside the acquisition, David Adams has been appointed chief executive officer to lead the next phase of growth for the combined Uform and TKC businesses.
Wes McKenna, group sales and marketing director at Uform, said: "After a long and considered search, we are pleased to complete the acquisition of TKC. This is an important step for the Group and significantly strengthens our kitchen and bedroom offering. By bringing together the strengths of both businesses, we are well positioned to deliver even greater choice, competitive pricing and continued high levels of service to our customers."
David Adams said: "The combination of Uform and TKC creates a compelling platform for growth, and I look forward to working with the team to build on the strong foundations of both businesses and deliver for our customers."
Roy Saunders, chief executive officer of TKC, said: "Uform is a respected brand in the KBB sector and undoubtedly our combined strength will provide strong growth and a compelling proposition for our customers, as well as long-term stability for our employees."
