Portadown-based aircraft seating manufacturer Thompson Aero Seating has reported a significant rise in revenue and profitability, supported by increased production volumes and sustained global demand for premium airline seating systems. The company continues to scale its manufacturing output as its contracted order pipeline strengthens across international markets.
The News Letter reported that Thompson Aero Seating recorded revenue of £224m (€261m) for the year ending 31 December 2025, up from £170m (€198m) in 2024, with pre-tax profit increasing to £20.9m (€24.4m) from £12.1m (€14.1m) the previous year.
The company’s order book has grown to more than £1.2bn (€1.4bn), representing an increase of £400m (€466m) year-on-year, driven by new and repeat programme awards from major global airlines.
Demand for its seating products spans Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America and the Middle East, reflecting continued expansion in international aircraft cabin upgrade programmes and long-haul fleet development cycles.
Thompson Aero Seating designs and manufactures premium aircraft seating systems for Airbus and Boeing aircraft platforms, with production anchored in Northern Ireland and supported by engineering and design operations focused on cabin optimisation and passenger experience innovation.
Keith Anderson, chief executive officer, said: "At over £1.2bn, our order book is incredibly strong. We have the experience, expertise and capacity to fulfil and exceed this and we continue to work to ensure that our delivery is as strong as our promise."
He added: "We have a wealth of mostly homegrown talent at TAS and we continue to develop and enrich this amazing team."
The company has also launched a workforce-focused marketing campaign highlighting its engineering, design and manufacturing teams, alongside its Northern Ireland industrial heritage.
Thompson Aero Seating said continued investment in product innovation is supporting airline customers seeking to maximise cabin efficiency, improve passenger comfort and differentiate premium seating offerings across competitive global routes.
